Hinge review — the big app that's still growing

Hinge review — prompt-based profiles, Hinge+ and HingeX pricing, the One More Hour community fund, new leadership, and why it's the only big dating app still growing.

Verdict: The best of the big conventional apps for relationship-minded people, and the only one still growing fast (revenue +22% in Q2 2026). But it's still match-then-chat: turning matches into dates is your job.

How it works

Profiles are photos plus prompts; you like or comment on a specific photo or answer, which makes openers easier. "Friend's Take" (2026) lets friends weigh in on matches. Hinge positions itself as "designed to be deleted".

Price

Free version with limited daily likes; Hinge+ ≈ $30–33/month and HingeX ≈ $50/month in the US (dynamic pricing).

Offline

Hinge doesn't arrange dates, but its One More Hour fund gives grants to free or low-cost in-person community groups — $1.5M globally in 2026.

News

Founder Justin McLeod left in December 2025 to start the AI matchmaker Overtone; Jackie Jantos is CEO.
